Located 20 minutes away from Nadi International Airport, Radio Carbon Dating has proven that Tau Village is estimated to be over 400 years old.  This proves that Tau village was the first Fijian settlement set in the largest limestone cave in the South Pacific.

Legend has it that if one is not pure of all senses, one will not be allowed to reside permanently in the village.  For this reason the name Tau is given to the village meaning "Complete".
